Bear Sculptures
Bears can be imposing and Bears can seem cuddly. Below are pictures of Sculptures of bears These are all small and easily fit on a table. I plan to make a life size bear but have not as yet .

My favorite of these sculptures is “The Patience and :Love of Motherhood”. It represents me and my sons. My older son was always close as is the bear cub that is standing. My younger son is represented by the bear cub on the back of the mother bear. An example of why he is depicted in this way is: Often when I began walking with a cane he would take the cane and walk beside me and then hang on me as well. I am and they are as loving as this bear sculpture displays, however I probably am not as patient as this momma bear looks. This is the first sculpture I allowed myself to keep. It is not for sale. |

It is interesting figuring out the negative spaces one can get away with and still allow the mind to fill in and know it is a bear. These sculptures are made of Steel. They are either rusted, painted, or my favorite is the use of metal coatings to achieve the color. My bears are usually ones that I would not want to cross except the mother bear with her cubs. She gives the feeling of love. I have yet to make a cuddly Teddy Bear … maybe one day … |
