Birds require a very different kind of pattern and steps to create than animals and/or people.. When creating with metals that are welded in order to get the textures of the feather I used either a thin grinding blade or a plasma cutter to make the texture lines. With the Pellon the feathers are actually cut very close together to make the barbs. This makes them almost look real.. Here are a selection of the different kinds of birds I have created. Eagles and Hawks have been the most popular.
